Frequently Asked Questions

Tuition, Fees, Discounts and Withdrawal

  1. Tuition and fees are due at the time of registration.
  2. There is a one-time registration fee of $20 for all new applicants. If multiple siblings are registering at the same-time/same-day, we will wave the registration fee for the additional siblings residing in the same home. This discount is offered for same-time registration only. No exceptions.
  3. A discount of $10 will be applied to each additional sibling if siblings register for classes during the same semester (Discounts B and C can not be combined).
  4. Fees and tuition are non-refundable. Once a child has registered for a particular course, that seat has been designated for that child. Students may withdraw and receive credit up to the end of the second week of classes. Students who withdraw from classes will receive a credit equal to the number of classes left in that semester. Credit is good for one year from the date of issue. Credits not used within one year will be forfeited.
  5. Students must be picked up no later than the end of the scheduled class. (This is strongly enforced due to the limited time that instructor has between classes). Thank you in advance for your timeliness!

Payments

Payments may be made by check or credit (we accept Visa, MasterCard, or American Express). Responsible party will be charged a $30.00 fee for returned checks.

Makeup Classes/Studio Time

Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes. Should sickness arise, missed days may be made up at any one of the other class meeting times during the following week if space is available. Because seating is limited we cannot guarantee that a class will be available to you at your desired time. It is the responsibility of the parent to check availability and to schedule makeup class(es) at least 24 hours before desired makeup time. If a makeup class is not found, student will be given an hour credit toward our open studio hours which must be used during the current semester. If no attempt is made to reschedule within one week of the absence, the makeup class will be considered forfeited.

* Makeup class is a time for students to catchup on missed work. Modified instruction will be provided for the student in order to complete assignment, but teacher is not responsible for re-teaching previous lessons in its entirety.

Inclement Weather/Local Emergencies

If there is reported severe weather or any other such emergencies, please watch the local channel 9 news for announcements and public school cancellations. If there is a closing or delay of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools due to weather, Snook Art morning sections will be closed or delayed as well. To be sure, we ask that you contact our voice mail for further details as afternoon classes may be still be in session.

General Class Policies

  1. Students may arrive no earlier than 5 (five) minutes before start of class
  2. Students must be picked up no later than the scheduled end of class (see Class Schedule and Fees)
  3. Students may sign themselves in, however; only an authorized parent/guardian (as determined on the registration form) may sign student(s) out
  4. Students with sickness (i.e. fever, runny nose, or cough) will not be allowed to attend class. However they may schedule to make-up the class the following week.

Behavior

The teacher reserves the right to define inappropriate behavior and also reserves the right to remove a student either temporarily or permanently from class. There are no refunds and no make-up classes for students removed from class for inappropriate behavior.
Inappropriate behavior is generally classified as rude or foul language, disrespect of authority, hitting or fighting, intentional destruction of property or materials, or blatant disregard for class rules.

Limited Studio Space

Snook Art is a drop-off studio and due to limited space there is no room to accommodate parents in the studio. Only parents of children in the Side-by-Side classes are allowed to stay during class times. We ask that parents respect the other children in class by following these rules.

Holidays

Class schedules will be adjusted around the following holidays. We traditionally try to follow the CMS calendar, but CMS fluctuates due to make up days, so please check our website calendar to be sure.
